From the Bedroom To BBC Radio - Laminar's Journey

Laminar’s journey into the limelight began through an unexpected opportunity: a remix competition. Laminar's remix of RALPH's 'Tables Have Turned' landed him in second place, but it managed to catch the attention of DROP co-founder, Jimi Frew.

"I came 2nd place so didn't get [an official] release, but Jimi was impressed enough with my remix to reach out and we started chatting all things music. I didn't really have a proper music project at the time but talking to Jimi was the starting point for Laminar. Since then he's been a great friend and mentor, supporting me as I discovered my sound".

Now, Laminar's most recent leg up has come thanks to his track 'Hold On' - a collaborative effort with JYRYMY and Gavin Beach. Not only did this track light up the DROP platform when it went live as a Deluxe Release, but it also earned airplay on the legendary music platform, BBC Radio 1. That moment marked Laminar's transition from an underground hopeful to a mainstream contender. That Deluxe Release is still available by the way, complete with acapella vocals, stems and extended mixes.
